Planning double page N1

Page 1:  I decided to continue to work with my first outcome idea. I will produce A3 painting in my book and I want to montage to photos of the buildings as I did it before in my book. Still thinking about what will better to combine, building and objects on a streets in the same style or combination of modernism with classic.  Page 2:   I like how my idea worked out when I combined to different styles, so I want to develop it further in more detail. I decided to take an idea  from my thinking page to - to cut diagonally the final picture on 4 pieces and than put it in one but make it look abstract (inspired by chosen artist Cathy Read). I like that it will be in neutral, muted colors.

Thinking double page

Page 1:  Thinking and referencing to my previous work, I decided to focus on my first idea of the outcome. Due to this page reference it is seen that I want to focus on the theme of buildings and continue my “Environment” project by combining buildings with my other idea of the street objects and using the techniques of the artist which inspired me. To develop this project idea I should think in what way I want to present it and what will look more outstanding and interesting. I would like to produce it as a one piece of work but maybe be to play with it eg. Cutting it and put it in a composition to make it more abstract. I believe that this is a good way of representation as far as it will be to boring if it will be a standard A3 painting.  What I need to think about next is the way I want to combine my images and in what way it will work best visually. I want to add a specific atmosphere to a painting as I tried to do in my book before, so that the reason why I want to use di

Artist research Cathy Read response

In this response I decided to experiment with photo montage, so the final outcome look abstract. I was working in the similar color palette as chosen artist, because I feel that this kind of tones are suiting my idea very well.

Contemporary Architectural artist, Cathy Read draws with masking fluid, creating urban landscape paintings that reflect city life in all it’s glory. From the ground breaking designs of cutting edge architecture to the decaying remnants of a glorious past.  Each lovingly embraced in images full of detail. Using vibrant colours of watercolour and acrylic ink, she conveys the mundane and the ordinary next to the glorious and spectacular. Read’s distinctive paintings depict geometric shapes and inherent patterns of architecture in a free, expressive style, where she brings the city to life. Read draws inspiration for these paintings from time spent in London and other major cities, such as Manchester and Oxford.  Cathy Read’s painting appeals to me as I am interested in her strong use of line and the way she uses her palette to create a sense of atmosphere. The techniques used show the differences in the weight of paint through areas of layered colour as the negative line scores thr

On this page I showed my examples which links the style of the artist which I researched

response to Dawn Clements’ work

For my, I took a a photo of the staircase because it is the theme of the interiors what matches Ms. Clements theme of works. It’s quite abstract and seems dramatic what is portrayed by the artist in her artworks. I used 4 mediums to made the final outcome abstract and accurately show how I can interpret my inspiration from the artist work on the paper.  I brought my work to life with tones and shades linking to Ms. Clements’ as she has used a limited number of tones within her work . This helps to bring a particular mood and atmosphere to the drawing. To draw chaotic and heavy lines I have used black pen to show the geometrical form/shape of the composition and outline only relevant pieces to make my work more abstract. Occasional texture was added to my piece to further connect to the style of the artist giving volume to the specific object.

Dawn Clements’ (1958-2018) was an American educator and contemporary artist. She is well known for her panoramic, large-scale drownings of interiors. She was documenting and describing her drawings as a durational experience. Often she was inspired not just from the interior which surrounds her/ from her own life, but also she found source material from old melodramas movies. Her ideology of her work was the idea of the home, a place of both comfort and confinement. That’s why she has very calm and even romantic atmosphere in some of her drawings. Maybe that’s why she is known as an artist who put her life into her panoramas.  Dawn Clements’s drawings are generally in ballpoint pen or sumi ink. Often she used multiple sheets of crinkled paper, stitched together into irregular shapes in a big size that  sat in opposition. Ms. Clements’ had a work, which portrays an installation of fruit, electronics, foil packets and other items even including a box of Xeloda(a cancer medi
